ACCESSIBILITY

Aquascene are all about immersive experiences for everyone.
Our small personalised group sizes make this an ideal environment
for all guests to feel comfortable, safe and included.

Visiting the Great Barrier Reef is something so precious and beautiful, everyone should be able to experience seeing it, that's why Aquascene will
assist you where possible to make that adventure a reality.
Aquascene are proud of their abilities to tailor make our tours to be inclusive for all ages and abilities, including guests living with disability.
Wheelchair / Walker access to Aquascene and onboard.
Aquascene cannot accommodate motorised wheelchairs at present.
If the guest has the ability to be assisted up one step and onto the vessel, we can have the guest’s wheelchair ready for them once on the vessel.
Aquascene only has one main deck area which is spacious for wheelchair and mobility aids.
  • There is wheelchair / mobility aid access to the Magnetic Island Marina and to Aquascene vessel.
  • The Aquascene vessel is spacious enough for a wheelchair onboard.
  • Aquascene has a toilet located at the rear of the vessel with a raised toilet area and support rail.
  • Aquascene is a very stable boat with a well shaded deck area and areas for quiet space.
  • Great views from the deck area to all the sights during the tour.

Our NEW Vessel arriving in October 2023 has been custom designed with a focus on guests living with disability. We will have ramp access to the vessel.

Easy access in and out of the water
We have drop down stairs that go into the water with good hand rails for support. This allows guests with mobility challenges/living with disability to sit on steps and swim directly into the water.
These stairs are great for all ages and abilities.

Pontoon to give our guests the adventure of a lifetime
Suitable for all ages & abilities
We have a very safe, rigid and sturdy pontoon that is beautifully designed to accommodate guests that may have swimming or mobility challenges or just want the comfort of being guided by our reef guides.
We call this "cheating snorkelling!"

OUR ACCESS AND INCLUSION STATEMENT
At Aquascene we recognise that supporting and acknowledging diversity is important. This commitment is woven into our values and belief that we are stronger together, when we embrace the full spectrum of humanity, regardless of what we look like, where we come from or who we love.
This means providing diverse and inclusive tour experiences,
and this is reflected in everything we do at Aquascene Magnetic Island.
